Inspired by the discussions on Kintsugi re: "What if Jades are built to be socialites and they literally party like it's their job?"

Something that I've always found interesting is that up until Eyeball Ruby and her chisel-dagger the only gem whose native generated weapon was an actual weapon as opposed to a piece of armor (Ruby and Garnet's gauntlets, Jasper's helmet, Rose's shield) or Only A Viable Weapon In A JRPG (Amethyst and Holly Blue's whips) was Pearl, who was explicitly created for the express purpose of being a decorative noncombatant. Meanwhile all the combat-focused gems are getting stuck with shit like A Single Boxing Glove and they gotta make that work. I don't think it Means Anything, especially since the crew clearly are defining weapons in the "JRPGS and SoulCalibur" sense of the word, but it cracks me right the hell up whenever I remember that that's a thing. Can you fucking imagine. You were created for the express purpose of wreaking godly havoc on the battlefield and all you've got for the job is a fancy motorcycle helmet and your admittedly impressive muscle groups, meanwhile your boss's coatrack is kicking around with a sickass Nacre Naginata and bisecting warriors twice her size like it ain't even a thing. Such bullshit.
