Fantrolls 4 of whatever: Troll Sailor Moon is Very Silly

pretty much all of these designs need to be reworked to some degree. I drew Chloris first and it really shows that I hadn't entirely figured out how I want the uniforms to work yet


“I am the sailor suited Pretty Guardian who fights for Hate and for Pity — I am Sailor Alternia! In the name of the Alternia, I’ll punish you!”
The main character. Fights with a pretty magical assault rifle.

“Guardian of Wind and Sea, the pretty sailor suited soldier Sailor Sigal! In the name of the Pink Moon, I’ll conquer you!”
The true hero. Fights with a pretty magical shotgun.

“Guardian of Stone and Stars, the pretty sailor suited soldier Sailor Chloris! In the name of the Green Moon, I will subdue you!”
The moral compass. Fights with a pretty magical grenade launcher.

“Guardian of Plants and Light, I am Sailor Lucio! In the name of the Sun, you will crumble!”
The villain-turned-ally. Possesses a pretty magical machine pistol, but prefers to fight with her zombie magic

I love how all their weapons are just... guns. Increasingly intense, too. How does one fight with a grenade launcher in melee combat, I wonder?

Yeah, at the time it was super hilarious to me if it was just, You have your sparkly shoujo protagonist and your sparkly shoujo transformation sequence, but since it's an Alternian sparkly shoujo transformation sequence it just ends with her whipping out an AK and going to town on some monsters. Troll Sailor Moon's action sequences are probably less like a genre-typical magical girl fight sequence and more like the urban combat you'd get from a gangster/mafia-type film. Except, Alternia Is Fucking Ridiculous and this is a genre-typical magical girl fight sequence.

Chloris's whole thing is based around how jadebloods seem to be presented as this Madonna-like feminine/conciliatory ideal. So Sailor Green Moon is basically enforcing that idea to the utmost with her role on the team. And then I went and gave her a huge fucking grenade launcher. She's arguably kind of Anthy Himemiya-esque with regards to her relationship with femininity, except while Sailor Moon (and Utena) are feminist in context Troll Sailor Moon is hideous propaganda and blowing up a city block with explosives probably isn't at odds with the Alternian Feminine Ideal at all
