Fine dwarven names direct from Orzammar

In the DA universe my preferred headcanon for dwarven names is that most Orzammar dwarves are named after common nouns in the kind of bluntly on-the-nose way that makes them all sound like Phoenix Wright characters to the other cultures in Thedas. Which nouns get used tends to vary by caste, usually tools/materials that that caste tends to work with as part of their jobs, so warriors would be named for weapons, smiths & miners would be named for various minerals (with some cow vs beef lexical differences between the terms for raw ores and refined minerals), and merchants are all on some District 1 shit naming all their kids after shit with "luxurious" connotations. Casteless dwarves take their names from any of the above but given "Kayetlynne"-esque spelling and pronunciation blender so as to avoid prosecution for "impersonating" a member of the upper castes, and casteless names are not considered by the upper castes to mean anything but "this guy in particular."

All of this is to say that "Varric" is deffinitely the dwarven equivalent of "Glimmer" or "Cashmere" and he fucking hates it.
